Manchurian Pear Trees (Pyrus ussuriensis), free to a good home.
These trees were growing in our back yard, and are not wanted as we want to do other things with the space. They are about two years old and growing healthily, currently in pots but were originally in the ground. There are two saplings that are currently 2 metres tall. A third plant was inadvertantly pruned down to 1 metre but is also available.
This species is widely grown throughout Canberra (and particularly in public spaces in the northern suburbs) as an ornamental and shade plant, producing a thick leafy canopy in summer that changes to bright colours as the leaves drop in autumn.
Please note that as these are deciduous trees, they currently do not any have leaves on them as depicted in the photos (which were taken earlier this year), but as they are currently dormant it is the ideal time to move and transplant them. The pots and soil are not included unless you are willing to pay (they are expensive, lightweight fibreglass pots that I wish to re-use).
